Our own Reddit risk
exNiche has the same exposure that closed GummySearch, and we would rather say so up front.
- exNiche reads public Reddit community feeds. It has no commercial agreement with Reddit. Reddit requires a separate agreement for commercial Data API use, and third-party reports say Reddit is tightening public API access from 31 Oct 2026 (prowlo, read 27 Oct 2026).
- If every Reddit feed fails for 7 days in a row, or Reddit tells us to stop, exNiche automatically stops collecting from Reddit and stops selling Reddit-derived asks. Existing asks stay visible, labelled “Community ask (archived source)”.
- The ledger does not depend on Reddit alone: Stack Exchange questions (CC BY-SA 4.0, linked with author), AI agent searches and store searches feed the same ledger.
- exNiche quotes a short excerpt and links the original post. It never shows author contact details.
